Why MSHA Safety Services?

For mining companies and contractors, compliance can be complex. Different mine types, worker roles, and site conditions can affect which training is required, while documentation must be kept accurate and accessible.

MSHA Safety Services helps simplify that process by offering in-person and online interactive, instructor-led training, administrative support, site-specific course options, and wider compliance services. Its courses are designed to be interactive, with flexible scheduling and support for teams that need training delivered around operational demands.

The company also provides services beyond classroom training, including facility audits, on-site training, mine project safety staffing, and industrial hygiene support. Its facility audit services include safety recommendations, identification of potential issues, citation-prevention support, and accident-investigation assistance.

  • Part 46 New Miner Training
  • Part 46 Annual Refresher Training
  • Part 48 Subpart A and B New Miner Training
  • Part 48 Annual Refresher Training
  • Spanish-language MSHA training options
  • Site-specific training for mining teams and contractors

Part 46 training generally applies to surface mines, including sand, gravel, stone, clay, limestone, shell dredging, and colloidal phosphate operations. Part 48 training applies to surface metal mines as well as underground mines and certain surface areas of metal and non-mental underground mines. MSHA Safety Services helps companies and contractors identify which training route applies to their workforce.

Training can be tailored to the needs of a specific mine site, with live question-and-answer sessions and extended training options available for teams that require more detailed instruction. On completion of relevant courses, participants receive a printable PDF copy of their 5000-23 training certificate or Part 46 Training Certificate, which are both accepted by MSHA as valid documentation for training records.

MSHA Safety Services also supports contractors and consultants, as well as large-scale mining operations, giving Carroll Technologies customers a flexible route to training support across different workforce sizes and project requirements.
