Federal Pacific Company History
Electric Motor Repair and Sales, which would later become Electro-Mechanical Corporation (EMC), was founded in 1958 as a small electrical apparatus repair shop. By the mid 1960’s, it had grown to have fifteen associates, primarily serving the local textile industry.
In 1971, Line Power Manufacturing Corporation was created to meet the demand of the growing mining motor business. The company continued to flourish throughout the 70s and 80s with a number of acquisitions, and grew further throughout the 90s with product and facility expansion. During this time, the switchgear and transformer product lines were combined under one name – Federal Pacific.
Increased space at the Line Power plant made room for new manufacturing product lines, including electrical distribution equipment for solar, data center and other mission-critical applications.
Product Range
The company’s broad portfolio of transformers meet the power requirements of a number of sectors, including oil and gas, electric utility and industrial (including mining). It manufactures industrial control transformers, encapsulated or ventilated 600-volt class transformers, high-voltage general purpose transformers, pad-mounted transformers and unit substations/high voltage power, as well as vacuum pressure impregnated (VPI) and vacuum pressure encapsulated (VPE) transformers.
