Product long description:
An effective, easy-to-install valve for automatic control of water supplies fed to sprays for dust suppression, dampening, and quenching. For use with WIRE ROPE and RIGID CONVEYOR SYSTEMS.
*FOR 36″ TO 54″ BELTS*
FEATURES
EASY INSTALLATION.
The DSV400 automatic valve hangs directly on the wire rope that supports the belt idlers. One size fits nearly every type and size of wire rope structure. No additional parts or adjustments are necessary on wire rope systems if spray is required any time the conveyor belt is running. If spray is desired only when the conveyor is running loaded, optional mounting/adjusting brackets are available for use with wire rope or rigid conveyor structure. These mounting and adjusting brackets make installation on conveyor systems fast and simple. In many cases the MEFCOR valve can be installed while only requiring the conveyor belt be shut down for a few minutes.ALLOWS WATER TO FLOW ONLY WHEN THE CONVEYOR IS LOADED AND MOVING OR ANYTIME CONVEYOR IS MOVING YOUR CHOICE.
When used alone valve allows water to spray any time the conveyor belt is moving. When used with one of the OPTIONAL adjusting brackets the valve drive wheel can be adjusted so that it only contacts the conveyor belt when it is loaded. Therefore, spraying only takes place when belt is loaded and moving.DELAYED ACTION ON CLOSING.
Valve closes slowly (about 5 seconds) to allow conveyed materials to clear the belt and settling of residual dust. This shock-free closing action also ensures longer life for all the components of your water supply system.RELIABLE OPERATION.
Simple, mechanical operating mechanism operates a heavy duty, 3/4 inch, brass, ball valve with stainless steel trim. Dual nylon bristled drive wheels assure positive traction and long life. Inverted V-shaped frame resists entanglement in damaged conveyor belts. Controls water supplies with pressures up to 600 PSI. Optional stainless steel valve available for pressures up to 2000 PSI. NOMAINTENANCE.
Mechanical operation – no special hydraulic fluids to replace or replenish. No electrical components. No strainer in water valve to impede water flow or require periodic cleaning.LOWER COST. SAVE THREE WAYS
1. Lower initial cost;
2. No welding or fabrication of a mounting bracket required;
3. Installs in minutes to cut the costs of expensive labor and lost production time.PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Rotation of the nylon bristled drive wheel opens a 3/4 inch ball valve. When used alone on wire rope structure the valve opens any time the belt is moving. If desired, the unit can be mounted so that the drive wheel is spaced about 1/8 of an inch beneath the empty moving conveyor belt. When the conveyor is running empty the belt just avoids contact with the control valve’s drive wheel and the water valve remains closed. Likewise, with a stationary belt (loaded or unloaded) the drive wheel remains static and, consequently, the water valve remains closed. A load of material being transported by the moving conveyor belt causes the belt to deflect and imparts rotary motion to the drive wheel, thereby opening the water valve which feeds your sprays. The control valve can be mounted some distance from the belt head, since a five-to ten-second delay (on closing) allows the conveyed material to clear the belt before water flow is shut off.COMPARE!
MEFCOR versus THE COMPETITORS
1. Simple mechanical operation. No hydraulic components or hydraulic fluids required. No electrical components.
2. Heavy duty, brass ball valve does not require maintenance. No filter requiring periodic maintenance. Even handles debris laden water.
3. Can be installed in minutes. No field fabrication of mounting assemblies.
4. Controls water pressures up to 600 PSI.
5. Many competitors’ units are made overseas. -
